On August 29th, an Elite Camp themed “Cultural Inheritance & Innovative Development” for University Students from Fujian, Hong kong, Macau and Taiwan, sponsored by the Education Department of Fujian Province, and jointly hosted by FNU and the Cross-Strait Vocational and Educational Exchanges and Cooperation Center, successfully concluded on the Qishan Campus of FNU. Lin Haifeng, Director of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs Office of the Education Department of Fujian Province, and Ye Shen, Deputy Secretary of FNU Party Committee, together with all theteachers who led different teams, all the campers and some FNU teachers and students, attended the closing ceremony.
In his speech, Ye Shen pointed out that young people are the backbone of inheriting excellent Chinese traditional culture. The university students from Fujian, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan should consciously assume the responsibility of cultural inheritance and innovation to make Chinese culture stand out in the world. Lin Haifeng highly appreciated the performance of the campers and fully affirmed the positive role the Elite Camp played in cross-strait youth exchanges and Chinese cultural inheritance. The student representativessaid that this summer camp has enhanced mutual understanding, established a profound friendship and deepened their understanding of Chinese traditional culture. After the ceremony, a camp closing partywas held, and the students of the Elite Camp gave wonderful performances, such as drama, folk music ensembles, and stage plays.
It is reported that the Elite Camp consisted of more than 120 students from over 30 universities, such as the University of Hong Kong, the University of Macau, Taiwan Tsing Hua University, Xiamen University and FNU. During the one-week trip, they went to Xiamen, Hangzhou, and Fuzhou to conduct quality development activities.
