On December 20, the 2021 Chinese Mathematical Olympiad (Final) and the 37th National Secondary School Students Mathematics Winter Camp opened at the lecture hall of the Affiliated High School of FNU, which was hosted by the Chinese Mathematical Society (CMS) and jointly organized by Fujian Mathematical Society and FNU, with the theme of Seeking and Encountering the Beauty of Mathematics. Tian Gang, vice chairman of the China Democratic League (CDL) Central Committee, president of the CMS and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered an online video speech, and Li Dejin, vice governor of Fujian Provincial People's Government attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Lin Heping, director-general of Fujian Provincial Department of Education, Li Wenzhe, deputy director of the General Office of Fujian Provincial People's Government, Lu Weiqun, vice chairman of Fujian Association for Science and Technology, Sun Xiaolan, vice mayor of Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government, Tang Xi, director of Fuzhou Municipal Education Bureau, Pan Yuteng, secretary of FNU Party Committee, Zheng Jiajian, vice president of FNU, relevant experts, teachers leading the competing teams from 31 provinces as well as nearly 500 contestants, attended the grand event. The opening ceremony was presided over by Wang Changping, chairman of Fujian Mathematical Society and president of FNU.
Wen Qing, principal of the Affiliated High School of FNU, gave a welcome speech. He extended his warm welcome to the teachers and students who came to this event, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the CMS and the Mathematics Competition Committee of the CMS for giving the Affiliated High School of FNU the opportunity to serve this event. He said that the school would make every effort to provide safe and high-quality services with rigorous attitude and thorough organization.
