FNU Holds A Serial Activity to Popularize Knowledge about Law of the People's Republic of China on the Standard Spoken and Written Chinese Language

On the afternoon of Oct. 21, a serial popularization activity, with the theme of “One heart, One Language; Creating the Future Together: Law of the People's Republic of China on the Standard Spoken and Written Chinese Language”, co-hosted by FNU and Fujian Union of Social Sciences, and undertaken by Fujian Lexicographical Society, the Base for Promoting the Standard National Spoken and Written Language and College of Chinese Language and Literature of FNU, kicked off at the Science Hall on Cangshan campus. Nearly 300 people attended the event, including Guo Ronghui, deputy director of Fujian Cares for the Next Generation Working Committee and director of Cares for the Next Generation Working Committee of Fujian Education System, Chen Huang, deputy director of Cares for the Next Generation Working Committee of Fujian Education System, Chairman Ma Chongqi, Executive Vice Chairman Lin Zhiqiang, and Vice Chairman Wang Jin’an of Fujian Lexicographical Society, party leaders and administrative officials of College of Chinese Language and Literature, and teacher and student representatives.

Centering around the Law, on-site questions and answers were conducted to publicize and popularize relevant knowledge about the Standard National Spoken and Written Chinese Language. Later, the unveiling ceremony of the Office of the Organizing Committee of Fujian 23rd Good Teenagers in the New Era Themed Educational Activity and the launching ceremony of Speech, Recitation and Essay Review Meeting themed “Creating a Beautiful Life through Efforts” were held. Students from Affiliated Primary School of FNU and College of Chinese Language and Literature gave such excellent recitations as I Wish to Serve My Country As Long As I Live, Standardized Chinese Characters & China, Spoken Chinese Language and Why Huaxia? Why China?, expressing Chinese people's deep feelings towards their motherland and language workers’ sense of responsibility and mission. The whole event lasted for nearly two hours, and the teachers and students present strongly felt infinite charm of spoken and written Chinese language.
